We’re hiring!

Is this your desk?

Does the spare desk at Audioboo HQ have your name on it?

We’re looking to hire a web developer with knowledge of the latest web development tools and methodologies to take Audioboo to the next level.

You need to be an excellent team player who’s ready to take on the challenge of working in a start-up environment. You’ll have Ruby & Rails experience, together with a decent knowledge of MySQL, *nix, and TDD. Our current stack and toolset includes Solaris, Nginx, Thin, Rails 3.0, Redis, MySQL, Sphinx, Haml, Sass, jQuery, Rspec, Cucumber, and Git, so an interest in at least a few of those would be a plus.

We’re a small, but dedicated team with a well used table-football table and a fine line in English humour. If you think you’d make a good addition to our team and would like to be part of an exciting company which boasts high-profile users such as the BBC, Al Jazeera, Absolute Radio and Stephen Fry then get in touch. We’re based by Tower Bridge in London.

Send a covering letter together with your resume or portfolio, Twitter handle, GitHub account and current salary, to jobs at audioboo.fm with the subject line “Web Developer”.
Please ensure your application reaches us by the end of play on Friday, 5th August 2011 if you wish to be considered.

Salary commensurate with experience.
We do not use recruitment companies, so please save our time and yours by respecting this statement.

for future new workers for Audioboo, I suggest that you try to give the job to a suitable person that has a different language as their mother tongue, ( as well as English) to then help to grow Audioboo in areas of other languages

    obvious choice would be
    - spanish, 400 million speakers. there are shed loads of Spanish speakers with good web skills if willing to bring them from Spanish speaking countries.

(I can probably help you source some, I know 1 of good Spanish speaking web expert person and I can probably source more via contacts)

and btw, imo, when employing, pay the extra and get the best !
….any benefit to Audioboo would be divided among many users and hence be insignificant
