Android deserves Beta

Jens, our Android coder

Mett Jens, our Android developer

Here at Audioboo HQ a small team of technical wizards work hard to keep the cogs whirring, the servers saving, and the app and website looking pretty.

I’m here to keep you informed of what’s going on, listen to your feedback, and occasionally even tell you to turn it off and turn it back on again. Like you, I’m a user of Audioboo both online and on the move, and I know the Android app needed some love.

I’d like to say that it was my appearance in the office that ensured the new Android app got coded, but a nice chap called Jens has been busy coding it for us since before I got here. (I did plaster him with “wish-list” post-its when he showed up in the office though, as you can see.)

The good news is that we’re just about ready to let a crack team of beta testers get their hands on the new version of the app to check it for bugs before we release it to the marketplace. There are still some places available in the BetaBoo team so let me know if you’re up to the job.

Are you that power-user who’d love the addition of queued uploads? Are you so cutting edge that you have to be the first to get your hands on the new Android version? Do you want the chance to be able to send and receive private messages on your Android phone? Or are you just one of those people who’ve been badgering us for an updated app? Whichever it is, we’ve got something for you.

If you’re interested in putting the new app through its paces then get in touch below and I’ll add you to my list.

Happy boo-ing!
Kate

Cheers, Kate. Since I’m on Android, and you need testers, what would I need to do? What would you need from my end? Let me know. *hugs*

    Hi Kate,
I didn´t start audiobooing myself but I just love !!
So I would be interested in the beta testing. Would be glad to know more.

    Kate,

I’d love to beta test your new app. It will even kickstart me into uploading more.

Just wish the Desire had a slightly better microphone.

  • Hey,

I’d be very interesting to test the new Audioboo Android Beta, as I often use the current Android app to upload all of my Audioboo’s.

    Thanks.

Woo! Hello everyone! I’ve made a note of your email addresses and I’ll drop you all a note as soon as I’ve wrestled the beta version from the hands of the developer. :)

  • Steve Nutt says:

Would love to see Boo work well for the blind, with Talkback, Spiel, or MobilAccessibility. Would you be interested to add accessibility if I test? I’ll give you the best feedback I can. I’ll test anyway, but because I am blind, if it ain’t accessible, it won’t work for me. Talkback and Spiel are both free n the mket, so you can play too at testing for accessibility.

    • RadioKate says:

      @Steve Nutt
Thanks for offering to test the app for us. Apparently the accessibility is quite good on the iPhone (so I am told) – I am not sure about Android, but the new app will be the same as the one offered to iPhone users. Fingers crossed that it will work for you. I’ll take a look at Talkback and Spiel too.

      Thanks,
      Kate

I’d be interested in testing out a new Android app – I’m using a fairly low-end decice, ZTE Racer.

    Hi Kate

Having used, and been disappointed with, the android app (after first using audioboo as an iPod app) I’m really pleased that it’s getting some attention, and I’d love to get involved in testing.

    Thanks!
    Bianca

    • RadioKate says:

Hi Bianca – sorry about that. I too first used it on iPhone and then on Android and was frustrated. The new Android app brings things inline with the iPhone app so hopefully you’ll be pleased!

      Thanks,
      Kate
