Audio Feedback
Always nice to be asked a question directly via audioboo and whilst I haven’t booed the reply (though that is coming), I thought I’d quickly answer the old fashioned way.
We always saw audioboo as a platform in it’s own right (we didn’t actually add Twitter integration until after launch). And, whilst we thought that news & radio would be an area of interest, we never fully expected that it would take off so quickly in the mainstream media and in one sense are rushing to add all the features you would expect in a fully fledged platform. News & radio are both industries with a challenged economic future. If you strip audioboo down to one bare essential, it’s this: we make it more cost effective to produce high quality audio. Add in the metadata we include with that and it’s a fairly easy proposition for a professional with an iPhone to understand. I think when we add in support for other smartphones – the Nokia’s & Androids of this world, we will really see audioboo taken extremely seriously as a professional tool.
I think audioboo is VERY cool. Heard about it from the post on ChrisBrogan.com. I just signed up today and am looking forward to playing with it. Mostly because I was looking for an easy way to upload audio to my blog – which I can do with Audioboo. One thing I’d like to suggest while you develop – I’d love to be able to customize the look of the audio player – make it orange and yellow or something rather than black and blue. (Kind of like you can do with YouTube frames now.)
