What’s new at Audioboo?

We’re beginning to get some flak for the navigationability of the website and I have to say we totally agree. To put it in context, we made a decision early on to pour the effort into the API and mobile app. We wanted to be able to capture as much content early on before making it easier to navigate that content. A tough decision but the type you need to make on very limited resources. Release early, release often…

So here’s a list of functionality we’ve put live on the site yesterday. Still concentrating on code rather than looks so bear with the ‘challenged’ design!

Twitter integration
You can now go (if you’re logged in) to your settings page to choose to autoboo to Facebook and/or Twitter. This will link to your Twitter account and send a tweetboo everytime you make a recording. We’ll put this on the phone app at some point, so you can toggle it on and off.

Editing Boo Information
We’ve added very basic functionality for editing tags, turning off location data and deleting boos on the website. Hope that is fine for the mo for those who asked.

RSS Feed
This isn’t new but we thought we’d point out that you can access an RSS fed for your boos or all recent boos by clicking the RSS icon in the address bar. In addition, you can now subscribe to boos in iTunes, either by pasting the RSS feed in the Advanced/Subscribe to Podcast menu item or clicking on the Subscribe link below a persons photo on the website.

Gravatar
This is tucked away in the Support section but thought we’d mention it. If you want a picture associated with your account, just go to http://gravatar.com and create an account using the email address you signed up to Audioboo with. We’ll pull that into your account.

That’s it for now!

    Hi,

I work as a journalist, primarily within radio and you app is very very useful indeed!

So handy to be able to whip out the iPhone and record an interview!

May I add a few suggestions for further down the line.

    1. Support downloads for your own content only – so that users can log in and download mp3′s for their own boos.

    2. Support uploads via laptop mics etc along with MP3 upload too. This way, users can upload edited work as well as ‘live’.

Fab work on this app… Love it to bits.
